Instructors

SUSAN SHEWMAKE is a resident of Sun City West moving here in January of 2009.  She is a certified Jazzercise Instructor and Franchise owner for over 28 years. Jazzercise is world-wide; routines are made up by professional dancers and Fitness experts.  Sue has been involved in many Jazzercise events and special performances. 

Susan teaches Jazzercise Lo – Dance Mixx in the R.H. Johnson – Social Hall (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.  This class is a full body workout that blends dance basics with muscle-strengthening moves for your best body and mood ever.  Set to a super-hot playlist that will distract you from the burn.  Wear comfortable clothes, athletic shoes are required, a towel, hand weights and a water bottle.

MITZI CERECEDES and her husband, Mike, moved to Arizona in 2005.  While having taught water/land Aerobics for many years she has decided to do fitness full time.  Mitzi is Certified through nationally recognized AFAA, (American Fitness Aerobics Association).She teaches H2O Fitzi with Mitzi (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), a high-intensity, low impact shallow water exercise program including warm-up and cool down periods with a complete aerobic segment.  Additionally, Mitzi teaches this H2O Fitzi with Mitzi class on Saturday (first Saturday in January through last Saturday in April). Participant provides their own noodle or weights.

DIANA THIELEN provides a total body conditioning with progressive cardiovascular workouts. Routine exercises are designed to enhance the mind-body connection, increase core strength, maximize toning and increase flexibility.  We use a flotation belt for deep-water aerobics; this is especially nice for people with arthritis because there is no impact on the joints.

BILL BENSON teaches Water Aerobics and Fitness  (Tuesday and Thursday), in the Palm Ridge Indoor Walking Pool. The Water Aerobics and Fitness class focuses on aerobics and water walking fitness drills.  This vigorous workout challenges all participants from those new to aquatic exercise through trained athletes.

SHERRY POSSNER:  Sheryy is Certified in Zumba and Zumba Gold, She is passionate about teaching Zumba.  Cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, energy boosting, fun and smiles, and a heavy dose of awesome!  Dance socks are great for Zumba.  Hand weights if you like.

LISA FRIEDMAN:  Lisa has been a fitness instructor since 1999 teaching Pilates, step kickboxing, TRX and aqua aerobics.  Lisa is also an AFAA certified personal trainer since 2001. 

Sculpt 45 is a 45 minute intermediate/advanced level strength class using weights and resistance equipment.  This class does heart-pumping choreographed muscle exercises for upper and lower body.  (Chairs are not used except for balance assistance.)
Chair 45 is a 45 minute beginner/intermediate level strength class using weights and resistance equipment.  This class does standing and seated choreographed muscle exercises for upper and lower body.
