Instructors

TAMMY McVEY graduated with a degree in dance from the University of Oregon and has coached gymnastics, professionally instructed classical ballet and aerobics for the past 48 years.  She now finds great joy sharing her skills and knowledge with her Sun City West friends.  Wear Comfortable clothes, athletic shoes required, bring a towel, hand weights, a water bottle and a smile!

Tammy will reacquaint the young at heart thru safe and thoughtful techniques for a healthier and happier you.  Regain core strength, head to toe posture and balance, firmer muscles and better flexibility.  After a good warm-up, enjoy some fun dance basics, strength training, stretching and of course a good cool down. 

 

H20 - Mitzi Cerecedes

MITZI CERECEDES and her husband, Mike, moved to Arizona in 2005.  While having taught water/land Aerobics for many years she has decided to do fitness full time.  Mitzi is Certified through nationally recognized AFAA, (American Fitness Aerobics Association).

Mitzi provides a high-intensity, low impact shallow water exercise program including warm-up and cool down periods with a complete aerobic segment. – a well balanced upper and lower torso workout.  Balance and flexibility will be increased.   Participant provides their own weights and/or a pool noodle.

 

Deep Water-CLAIRE RHODES

CLAIRE RHODES is a passionate and creative fitness professional with years of experience in water fitness instruction and program coordination. 

Claire brings energy, expertise and encouragement to every class.  She helps participants build strength, mobility and coordination through safe and effective aquatic workouts with a dash of dance thrown in!

 

 

 

 

SHERRY POSSNER is Certified in Zumba and Zumba Gold, She is passionate about teaching Zumba. 

Exercise in disguise to energetic Latin beats and current popular songs!  Classes begin with muscle warm ups and intensity to raising your heartbeat and strengthening core muscles.  Intervals of fast and slow rhythms that provide cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, energy boosting fun and a heavy dose of awesome!  Feels like dancing without worrying about your rhythm.  Dance socks are great for Zumba.  Hand weights if you like.

 

LISA FRIEDMAN has been a fitness instructor since 1999 teaching Pilates, step kickboxing, TRX and aqua aerobics.  Lisa is also an AFAA certified personal trainer since 2001. 

Intermediate/advanced level strength class using weights and resistance equipment – this class does heart-pumping choreographed muscle exercises for upper and lower body (chairs can be used for balance assistance).  Wear comfortable clothes, athletic shoes required, bring a towel, hand weights, band and a water bottle!

 

CHARLOTTE VERSAGI is certified by Drums Alive to teach Cardio Drumming.  Charlotte has enjoyed a professional career in health care for over 25 years.  Starting in nursing, moving to medical massage and then happily landing in fitness training.  She is a competitive swimmer, triathlete and long-distance cyclist.  Cardio drumming is her newest love and she brings raw energy and joy to her students.

Charlotte believes that an exercise program infused with joy and fun makes a profound difference in the aging process.  ‘Aging is only between the ears!’  Physical exercise along with social interaction makes a huge difference in the quality of life we lead as we age.
